We are dedicated to providing resources and training to give people the opportunity to find their voice.
We host trainings to introduce and help communicators, families, and professionals find a way to communicate by using technology and letter boards to give nonspeaking or limited-speech individuals access to the letters of the alphabet to communicate their thoughts and wishes. Periodically we host trainings in relaxed settings with small groups to teach people these skills. Our focus is to train families and professionals, so that communication becomes part of the daily life of everyone.
While these methods look quite simple, and they are easily learnable with dedicated practice, they do require training with experienced individuals to allow effective and reliable communication to take place. Supported Typing, Facilitated Communication (FC), Rapid Prompting Method (RPM), and Communicating with Spelling are all alternative communication methods which require training with individuals who have completed the requisite requirements to be reliably experienced training professionals.
We also truly believe that there are many sensory and neuromotor aspects that may need to be addressed for individuals who use some form of supported communication. We therefore make an effort to ensure that these areas are also addressed in our trainings.
Giving people their voice is our passion, and we strive to support everyone in the communication community who is working toward this honorable goal.
